What nobody’s telling you about London’s Olympic Park
The brand new facilities rising from the ground in the Olympic Park are living proof of a very old adage: good news is no news.
The total redevelopment of what was a neglected brownfield site into a new beacon for sporting excellence appears to be running as smoothly as the Swiss rail network.
The result is that most people have heard very little about incredible Park progress.
In fact, the most recent story I’ve seen said the biggest problem right now is the cost of finishing early!
Last week, two of us from Seven46 were lucky enough to get an up-close-and-personal tour of the Park, on one of the official Olympic Delivery Authority trips.
And here’s a glimpse of what we saw:
The main stadium, with the Aquatics Centre to the left:

And a close-up of the steelwork of the Aquatics Centre roof:

Pretty impressive stuff, I’m sure you’ll agree. Especially as the last time I was there (the evening before the area closed to the public to allow work to start) it looked like this:

And this is the same place now:

In fewer than 1,000 days, this incredible journey will climax with an Opening Ceremony that will crown the achievements of many thousands of people, over more than seven years.
Just because we’re not hearing much about it right now, doesn’t mean nothing’s happening!!
