"The Games of the XXXth Olympiad in 2012 are awarded to the city of ... London." Jacques Rogge, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)
Our name is nothing to do with jumbo jets. Or old-fashioned phones. Or any of the other guesses we've had.
In fact, it's taken from the time that 15 words uttered in Singapore changed the future of so many, and so much, thousands of miles away in the UK.
It was 7.46pm, on 5 July 2005, when IOC President Rogge revealed that London had won the race to host the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Seven46 founder Nick Varley was among the first to join the 2012 bid company - and was in the thick of it in Singapore, writing the final presentation made to the IOC.
Now, he is leading the Seven46 team that is continuing its work in sport, major events and regeneration.
The memories of 5 July 2005 may be becoming more distant. But they will never fade. And our aim is to repeat such success again and again ...
